Celtic Deer
An exquisite set of Celtic deer. This carving has a Black Forrest element to it. Deer and elk were venerated by the ancient Celts as a source of food and skin for clothing. They are present in the Nordic traditions as well as depicted by four deer who were constantly eating the bark of Yggdrasyl- The Tree of Life.
Dimensions: 9h x 22wPlease note: This piece is for hanging inside. Mahogany that is left to the elements will not fair well. Beautifully crafted one at a time, each wood carving starts from an original hand drawing. Every step of the carving and painting process is done by hand with great attention to detail and as a finishing touch a French paste wax is buffed into the finish until a rich luster is obtained.
