brewing for centuries, and by the 18th century, commercial brewing emerged, with Kilkenny and Dublin becoming prominent brewing centres. The 19th century saw a rise in the number of breweries, but this trend later reversed. Today, Irish beer is known for its stouts like
Guinness, as well as lagers, red ales, and the increasing popularity of Irish craft beers.
