Made by Solvar in Dublin, this show stopping Sterling Silver Claddagh pendant is hallmarked in Dublin Castle. The Claddagh is a beautiful and legendary Irish symbol of love, loyalty and friendship. Legend has it that the Claddagh symbol was originated by Richard Joyce, a Galway seafarer kidnapped by pirates and sold into slavery in North Africa where he learned the art of a goldsmith. When he was released, nothing could keep him from his beloved Galway where he returned to become a master goldsmith and where he created the Claddagh ring. For centuries this was used as a wedding ring by the fisher folk of Claddagh village, which nestled outside the walls of Galway city in the west of Ireland.
This gorgeous pendant comes with your choice of a Green or Clear Cubic Zirconia. Set on a 15" omega style chain, the Claddagh measures approximately 1 1/4" wide from cuff to cuff and is approximately 5/8" tall. This beautiful piece will arrive in a lovely gift box.
